New from Peavey: Session LTD 400 pedal by Bill Ferguson » 15 Jan 2025 12:17 pm I have been released to announce an new Product from Peavey Electronics. Many have asked for a pedal that would have the preamp of an original Session 400. Well here it is. It is called the Session LTD 400. It is the exact preamp circuit used in the early 70's.
Peavey's are known for putting out strong low end (even if it's only a perceived low end), even if they aren't what some may be looking for tonally overall. For my snootier "Tone Brain", I've got the Baggies! Speaking of toneless, I'm swapping an unused wireless unit for an old Peavey TNT 100. It was the first model bass amp I ever had.
I have just been released to show the new Peavey Nashville Session 112 or 115 amp. Production is tenatively scheduled for June 2025. I am receiving my Prototype 112 today and will report soon. This is a 200w (digital) amp that is switchable to have the traditional Nashville preamp or the traditional Session preamp.
Hence the Max 208. With this interation of Peavey's long running MAX series. They've improved their construction over the previous series which imo was built kind of flimsy, especially with the controls which tbh was very unusual for Peavey. Peavey was putting instruments into the school band programs, so they got a reputation as instruments for kids in school. That program was very smart for Apple computer but not so smart for Peavey. Perception becomes reality and the perception of Peavey's guitars, basses, amps and PA gear were that they were cheap crap.
In my experience, Peavey is a little bit like Toyota. Not a Ferrari, but loud, reliable and affordable. Ive never owned a Peavey bass amp, but I have a 40 year old Backstage as my guitar amp..still going strong. And it WAS my at home practice bass amp for 30 years until I got my little Ampeg. And lots of times Peaveys were provided backline.
I just bought a Peavey Millennium Plus 4 and I love it! I can totally see why people say Peavey's are greatly underrated. I'm a convert now and want to start adding to my collection. Tell me about Peavey Foundation basses especially the ones with super ferrite pickups.
Peavey built an incredible all tube monster for a market that wasn't there (just like Aguilar has axed there 400watt tube beast). I plan on using my current rig till the end of my days. You say it's on eBay? all I've seen are the old SS Series 400 no Classic 400. (I'm not in the market for another, I just watch eBay for them )
The one Peavey amp that I really and truly like for pedal steel above the others, all uses and factors considered, is my early model Nashville 112. I think the label says it all High Definition.
