I've been seeing so many posts talking about how much they dislike Notion and asking for alternatives. What are the reasons why people hate them?

Notion is a useful and great tool, but by its nature it has a top level issue of pseudo scammers trying to sell people stuff that they don’t need in the name of productivity.

Notion is a tool that lets you have a structure in your data. You can experiment with the structures to find what fits you, and this experimentation is very easy to do. Also, it has a better typing experience, and it has better looking text out of the box. And it also has clients for every major platform, it syncs everything and is free.

It seems notion has updated something that puts us one step closer to exporting a pdf properly. Which means, the blocks don't get messed up and the pictures don't look like absolute crap (or get cut off).

In contrast, Notion covers everything I need, like my projects, notes, schedules, databases, and integrations. It's fantastic! Plus, it's incredibly intuitive, and I was able to start using it right away. As an Autistic mother of a teenager, remodeling an old house, and starting a channel, I always have a special interest I'm working on.

Notion enables seamless collaboration with both clients and other contractors involved in the projects. Furthermore, it helps me efficiently organize and sort photos and records related to each individual project. However, Notion extends beyond my construction business and has become an integral part of organizing my entire digital life.

Notion is fantastic to use as a cross referencing tool. If I have to tediously cross check pages for accuracy, working links, etc I use a database and a temporary [√] column which hides itself when checked. As I move through the pages I have to check I focus only on what's left and not what's checked (because a custom filter can hide them).

Notion is free with all the necessities and a lot more! If you want to involve other people, that's when it costs money.
