In classic Outlook or new Outlook, choose the conversation that you want. Select Summary by Copilot (or it might say Summarize) at the top of the email thread. Copilot will scan the thread to look for key points and create a summary for you.

To write a “To recap our conversation” email, start by greeting the recipient and thanking them for their time. Then, briefly summarize the main points of the conversation, using specific details and examples whenever possible.

Get a thread summary by selecting an email that’s part of a conversation thread, clicking the Copilot icon, and choosing “Summarize this thread” to get a condensed version of the entire conversation including key points from all participants.
