I'm a teacher, and I would like to monitor my students during an online schoology assessment. Is it possible to see if they switched tabs or went on to different applications.

Don't know how many other districts use schoology but this was brought to my attention by a student that was doing this. On the schoology login page you can get whatever text is in the password field in plain text using the inspect element. Truly is incredibly easy. Right click the password field, then click inspect.

Schoology tells you during training that they prefer their users avoid Apple based products (iPhone, iPad, Safari browser) when accessing the platform. I haven't used canvas with students (only explored it for a master's class), but if canvas works seamlessly with chrome, Firefox, and Safari, that would be enough for me to vote canvas.

Schoology is horrible software. It doesn't even work consistently even within Schoology. I could write a 5000 word essay about the various ways it is frustrating to use. It does integrate successfully in the sense that you can eventually sync grades between the two, but it's not easy or intuitive. It would be nice if the gradebook was simply identical between the two, but that's not the case ...
