The Florida Legislature passed groundbreaking legislation in 1997 establishing Florida Virtual School (FLVS) as a grant based pilot project, pioneering Florida's first Internet based, public high school.

Florida Virtual School provides Kindergarten 12th grade students with a variety of tuition free*, flexible online courses. Take true ownership of your education by creating your own schedule and working at your own pace.

This school uses FLVS curriculum, other educational resources and the FLVS Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information System (SIS). FLVS also provides training and mentoring for district teachers and administrators.
