If starting with a power supply (rectified AC or DC), a controller of some kind would be need to vary the voltage to the track. Are commercial units available and are there schematics for building your own?

A while back we had a discussion about taking one of the cheap Chinese modules and wrapping the required components to power directly from track power, so here's my first mock up. The DC DC module selected claims up to 3A, though I'd be perfectly happy getting maybe up to an amp, no way we're getting three amps, they get too toasty doing that.

For portable applications there is a trend to decrease the supply voltage, resulting in a reduction of output power at conventional output stages. Using the BTL principle increases the output power. The maximum gain of the amplifier is fixed at 35.5 dB. The DC volume control stage has a logarithmic control characteristic.

The D_S 2W Series are specially designed for applications where a group of polar power supplies are isolated from the input power supply in a distributed power supply system on a circuit board.

The LEDCCLR requires AC voltage higher than the DC voltage requirement of the connected LEDs. For example, three white LED’s connected in series require about 9 volts DC, the LEDCCLR with this configuration would require 10 volts or more of AC power for correct operation.
